Your ggf's surname was not "Lyee"; actually it was his personal name which unfortunately was misconstrued as his last name, ie. surname in Australia. One cannot tell by an English tranliteration (Pew) what maybe the real surname of your gggf, only the Chinese character will confirm it. The "Ah" is only an appellation carrying no real meaning. Did your ggf die in Australia? If so, you should try to find his grave. His tombstone will probably have Chinese written on it and will include his real Chinese name and where in China he came from.
