During the week of May 19-22th, the National Genealogical Society will be holding their Conference in the States 2004 at the Sacramento Convention Center in Sacramento, CA. Genealogists and librarians from around the country will be attending workshops. Research topics range from the gold rush, census, Afro-Americans, Revolutionary to Civil War records, Chinese, German and Land Records. One of the speakers for the NGS Conference is Jeanie Low. She is the author of "China Connection:Finding Ancestral Roots for Chinese in America". Her presentation "Chinese Research" is scheduled for Thursday, May 20th from 2:30PM-3:30PM and will focus on various documents and access methods available to verify family stories. Her audio visuals include U.S. military records, 20th century immigration and naturalization documents, census, Chinese mortuary records (1870-1933), interview and organizational techniques.
