I recall my mom telling me a similar story about the Namhoi village starting with very few Kwans and ending up with the whole village being populated by Kwans. My grandmother (Paw Paw) came from that village. My mother was born in Canton (or near) but moved to Macao when she was very young and then moved to Hong Kong when she was about three. She came to America around 1975. I am trying to find out the history of my family but it is hard since both of my mom's parents passed away when I was young, I never even knew my grandfather (Gung Gung) because he passed away in China or Hong Kong, I don't know which.
