My grandfather's name is Pe Kim Tiao and he went to Palawan from Amoy, also about 1920. The batch of Pe immigrants he was with was headed by the matriach Pe Kia, who is still lives in Coron, Palawan. My parents tell me that if I want to obtain information from the Pe family, it is her that I should meet. People bearing the surname Pe are all related, unlike big and common Chinese families in the Philippines. Pe families are scattered in Palawan (Coron, Culion, Pueto Princesa, El Nido) and in Metro Manila.
