I had sent an earlier post but did not get any response.
My surname is spelt CHIN but the Chinese character is QIN (same as that of Qin Shihuangdi, the first emperor of China). I have been living for many years in Australia but has not met any other person with the same Chinese character surname. That leads me to wondering why. Is it because of its rarity or is it because most of the Qin's are still localised somewhere in Mainland China say.
Is there anyone else on this message board who has the Qin surname and have forebears originating from Mainland China and Asia?
