Taing is actually Tang. Tang is the Teochiu/Teochew equivalent of Mandarin's Chen (Chan in Cantonese, Tran in Vietnamese).

: What part of China did your ancestors came from?
: What dialect of Chinese did they speak? That would determine what "Taing" is translated from.
: Where did they migrate to? That would tell us the language that "Taing" is translated to.
