Well, in my part of the world, Low is a Chinese name. There are variation in terms of the spelling such as Lew, Liew, Liu, Lau or Law. This is one of the old surnames that some earlier famous general.

: : My last name is Low and I'm Chinese. My Chinese friends hardly know anyone Chinese people with Low as a last name. Is it rare? What is the origin of the name?

: I am a Low as well. Does any of your grandparents or great grandparents come from HuiYang or Long Kang in China? I am trying to locate my grandparents since my dad passed away in Dec 1987.
