I think your "Toy" surname is also "Cai..." Try Thomas Tsu-wee Tan's book, Your Chinese Roots, p. 183-184 on the surname, Cai, the first was a papermaker, also pronounced... Toy, Choy, Chooey, Chui, Tsoi, Tsai in various dialects. The Toy spelling I have seen used about 1890's in immigration documents to U.S.
