Hi Racheal, It is difficult to give you the Chinese Word as they are translated diferently by diferent people. There is no standard translation until recently with Hanyu Piyin.

However from information given, I suspect that your surename could be \B The word in Hanyu Piyin is translated into "Zeng" but in Cantonese, it could be writen as "Chan, Cheng, Chang, Tsang".
