I'm just very confused at the moment...how Anglo-Saxon and Asian surnames can be similar. Sorry just clueless!

: Do you have the character? It's really hard to tell from the attempts to put it into English. There isn't really any standardization.

: My guess is that it's "lok" first character for camel. This is the Cantonese pronounciation. The Gov. of Washington (I think he's still gov.) is a "lok". His name is Gary Locke. Most people pronounce it "lock" in English.
