My grandmother's father, whose name was TAI POW was originally from Hong Kong. He returned to China circa the 1930's. Today, we are uncertain if any Tai Pow's remain in China, and we are curious if the name would be the same. We had been advised by friends who also share the prefix TAI (Tai Chue and Tai Shue), that the names where adapted when the families moved to the west, and that TAI more or less indicates the origin. If anyone can provide us any insight into the family name, we would greatly appreciate any information.
