This does not appear to be a proper Chinese surname. It looks like a personal name that inadvertently became a "surname" in the West due to the presence "Ah" which is just an appellation, and "Mun" is a personal name. Without the Chinese character it is difficult to pin down which Mun it is. A common personal name means "culture, literature". In Mandarin it is Wen.
: I believe this to be my Grandfather's surname. I have been told that he was from Canton and that he was a Merchant Seaman. Here Came here to Cardiff in early 1900's. I am looking to find others with this surname and the meaning of it. Grateful for any help or pointers.
