: I find the possible ancestor's name can also be Anglicised as "Hong Xiuquan" and he had a relative "Hong Rengan".
Hong Xiuquan (Hung Hsiu-ch'uan) and Hong Rengan (Hung Jen-kan) are believed to be cousins. Hong Rengan's son Hung Khui-syu emigrated to British Guiana in 1879 and later went to Trinidad. His descendants go by the surname Fung which is the Hakka pronunciation of the surname.
