I see quite a lot of people looking for the roots of their family, which is very good! It shows how interested and proud we are of our ancestry.
What I would like to say to the majority of these people, is that they should first find out the Chinese words for their surname.
In every language the names are written in a different way. Mine, e.g. is written Lie in Dutch, in English Lee and in pinyin Li.
I do hope you will ask some older member of the family for the correctly written name in Chinese, which helps a great deal!

I forgot to mention in my former message that we should also know at least the name of some region, that our ancestors would have come from. Looking for the roots of my family just mentioning Lee would not help at all!
Friends and elder people can help a lot!
