Haiphong Road was not the same as Bridge House.

I am researching material on the internment of Allied civilians in China by the Japanese, 1942-1945. Haiphong Road was one of several internment camps set up by the Japanese. Many employees of the Shanghai municipal council were interned in a camp known as Yu Yuen Road. Bridge House was the headquarters of the Japanese military police, known as the Kempetai. Unspeakable atrocities were committed there.
