Lee is a very common non-Chinese name especially in the southern United States.
One example is the Robert E. Lee in the US Civil War, he was definitely not Chinese.
Remember Lee, Li, Le etc. are all just translation from a very popular Chinese name.
The same applies to the surname Young (yeung) and Lang (leung), they are translation which fall on some common non-chinese names.
