Thanks for your advice. I am aware that my Grandfather was half Chinese Hokkien and so that info now makes complete sense. I am also really interested in finding out more about my ancestory, I did visit the Yeoh Kongsi in Malaysia and was wondering if any of that info can be found on line....

: They are different areas of China. The Fujian (Fukien,Hokkien) dialect and the Teocheow (Chaozhou, Chiu Chow) dialect are very similar and I believe in southern China although not as far south as Guangdong. Fujian is actually a province and I believe that Teocheow is a city.
: If you're surfing the net for more info you'll find them under the Mandarin spellings of Fujian and Chaozhou.
