: I would like to contact persons with any knowledge of descendants of the Li family to which Li Hsiu-ch'eng (Pinyin = Li Xiu-cheng) belongs. Li Xiu-cheng was entitled Loyal King, [alias Zhong Wang (pinyin), Prince Cheng or Prince Chung] of the ill-fated Taiping Heavenly Kingdom in the 1860s. It is said that some Li family members managed to escape and emigrate to the West Indies where they are now known by the surname Lee.

Hi Trev,
Being married to one of the Lee family members I have been indoctrinated with the family roots.I believe that they escaped and settled in Sabah Malaysia. This is where the Lee family
has details of the descendants. However according to my wife's family, there was a group that migrated to the West Indies ? early 1900 and settled there.
I am in close working contact with one of the West Indies group here in B.C. Canada, but have not traced the names of his ancestors.I will certainly ask him over the next few weeks.
