Hi: It is very difficult to guess as it all depends what delect you /your parent speak. Leo could mean the same character that the cantonese would translate as "LAU". The best way to do it is to find out which part of China you family immigrated from before going any futher.

: I've always assumed the spelling was suppossed to be Liu, (many people want to say lew).

: so the question is there anyone out there with this similar problem... I have relatives all over NYC and San Diego, but they arent Liu's.
