Answer:you need to be more specific in your family information. "Gong" is not enough. Such as a complete name, where they settled in CA. and approximate date. Then you could at least do census search by counties in CA. Go back ask for somemore oral family history. Of course, you could work backwards from the latest ancestor back through census and maybe one of the Gong relatives will be named in fathering a child. I
