Have you searched his immigration records through the Mexican government. In the U.S., these records are searchable by full name, year of immigration or naturalization, ie. U.S. Dept. of Immigration and Naturalization Dept. (I am author of the book China Connection:Finding Ancestral Roots for Chinese in America. 1994/1996. JWC Low Co. Resources for finding English and community resources; how to translate Chinese gravestones and dates, etc. Emphasis is period of 1830s-1970 which is the most difficult period. Good luck. I also do lectures and consultancy work.
