I just called 5 of those associations and got 2 hangups and 3 no answers. I guess I need to find a Chinese-speaking person to make the calls for me.

I am confident that my g-grandfather's testimony was correct. I have a romanized village name but times and names have changed and it is difficult to track without the Chinese characters.

Was hoping you would have the charcters for your An Fun village. It's really funny - you said there is a Nam Gai temple. My g-grandfather named his first two sons - Nam and Gai. Coincidence? Makes for an interesting story anyway. Thank you for posting the story from your Mother's late brother.
