Mariano Tecson is a Captain in the revolutionary army of aguinaldo against the Spaniards. He started as a Lieutenant in the Spanish Civilian Guards, together with his elder brother pablo tecson, but later defected to the Filipino revolutionary forces due to SIMON TECSON their middle brother, during the battle of San Miguel de Mayumo, Bulacan. He became a Captain under his brother pablo's command first against the Spanish later with the Americans. He surrender to the Americans together with his elder brother Col. Pablo Tecson, immediatelly took the oath of allegiance and pablo was appointed first Military Governor of Bulacan and later mariano was appointed Mayor of San Miguel, Bulacan.After being appointed mayor Mariano peaceful retired and stayed away from politics, tending to heir farms. Meanwhile, their brother Col. Simon Tecson surrender but did not take the oath of allegiance and was deported to Guam with Mabini, Ricarte and Melchora Aquino. After a year Simon returned to the Philippines and a year later died and now buried in San Miguel, Bulacan. Last June 28, 2009, a HISTORICAL MARKER was installed by the National Historical Institute at his house in recognition of his contribution for our independence, the San miguel Council in a resolution declared Simon an outstanding son of San Miguel, Bulacan. There are still many honor being given to Simon on June 29, 2009 a symposium was conducted in memory of Simon. The movie "BALER" where his contribution was enacted.
