The couple farmed for 35 years southwest of Ladora. Dorothy was a homemaker and mother, who enjoyed quilting, needlework, gardening, and various crafts. She also enjoyed traveling and accompanied her nephew, Rawson and his wife to Hawaii.
Dorothy attended the Koszta United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Methodist Ladies Aid, Marengo Busy Bees Sewing Club, and Victor Women's TOPS Club. She also attended the Ladora monthly potluck dinners, and morning coffees. She enjoyed games of UNO and dominoes. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends.Dorothy Slaymaker, at the age 91, formerly of Marengo, died May 4, 2005 at the Belle Plaine Nursing and Rehab Center following an extended illness.
Dorothy was buried in the Ohio Cemetery, in rural Ladora, Iowa
