OBITUARY: Exerpt from Long Prairie Leader March 2, 1978:
Services were held Wednesday, March 1, for Arthur E. Johnson, 71, of Grey Eagle at the United Methodist Church in Grey Eagle with the Rev. Royal Steiner officiating. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery.
Mr. Johnson died Feb, 26, in Melrose Hospital. He was born May 7 1906, in Pillsbury. On Nov. 3, 1933, he married Hilma Shulz in Grey Eagle. He farmed near Grey Eagle for many years.
He was preceeded in death by brother, Charles; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Rosty and Mrs. Bertha Stoll; and an infant daughter.
Survivors include his wife, Hilma of Grey Eagle; five sons, James of Grey Eagle, Herbert of Wood Lake, Donald of Randall, Ben of Long Prairie and Tony of Grey Eagle; four daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Loretta) Nelson of Siren, Wi., Mrs. Arnold (Ardenne) Reimers of Grey Eagle, Mrs. Arnold (Margaret) Atkinson of Freeport and Mrs. Ken (Carol) Meier of Sauk Centre; a brother, Leonard Johnson of Swanville; three sisters, Mrs. Bill (Emma) Rahn and Mrs. Ida Pearson of Burtrum and Mrs. Josie Scott of Alexandria; and 27 grandchildren.

Arthur married Hilma SCHULZ, daughter of Eernest SCHULZ and Wilhelmina REINKE, Nov 03, 1933 in Grey Eagle, Birchdale Twp, Todd Co, MN. (Hilma SCHULZ was born Nov 23, 1914 in Albany, Stearns, Minnesota and died Dec 15, 1992.)
