Nuptial vows were exchanged Saturda morning, Feb. 2, 1964 at 9:30 in St. Matthew Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids between Sharon M. Connor and Ronald C. Rathjen. The Rev. Martin Pfab said the nuptial mass at the double ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of the Robert J. Connors and Mr. Rathjen's parents are the Carl H. Rathjens, all of Cedar Rapids. Mr. Connor is a former Williamsburg resident, and the Rathjens formerly lived near Marengo.
Music was provided by Mrs. Norb Engler, organist. ALtars were decorated with bouquets pink and white mums and pink snapdragons.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor length wedding gown fashioned of peau taffeta with a fitted lace bodice, junior train, scalloped sabrina neckline and long tapred sleeves. Her veil of silk imported illusion fell from
a crown of sced pearls and she carried a bouquet of ponk and white roses.
Ellen Connor, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a blue taffeta gown trimmed in blue satin and matching bow headpiece with a short veil. She carried a nosegay of pink and white mums.
James Roberts of Marengo was best man. Seating the guests were Marilyn McMann of Marengo and Jerry Connor of Cedar Rapids, cousin of the bride. The men were attired in black tuxedos and each wore a white carnation boutiniere.
The bride's mother chose a bona white wool knit suit with navy accessories for her daughter's wedding. Her corsage of pink and white camelias. Mrs. Rathjen wore a navy and white wool knit suit ans a red and white camelia corsage.
Seventy guests attended a wedding dinner at the Elks Club dining room. A reception was heldin the afternoon at the home of the bride's parents.
Assisting at the reception were Mrs. William Forrest of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Vincent Connor, aunts of the bride, and Mrs. Kenneth Rathjen of Marengo, aunt of the groom; also Mrs. Gary Rathjen and Mrs. Glen Rathjen, Marengo, sisters-in-law of the groom; and Joanne Connor, Kathy and Karen Forrest, Cedar Rapids, cousins of the bride.
The bride is a graduate of Ottumwa Heights Junior College, Ottumwa, and has been employed at Cherry-Burrell in the accounting . . ."
