OBITUARY -- January 1966

EDGAR L. PRATT
MONMOUTH -- Edgar L. Pratt, 82, of 822 S. Fifth St. died
Sunday morning at his home.
Mr. Pratt was born April 1, 1883, at Walnut Grove. He was
married in 1905 at Bushnell to Eleanor W. Jones, who died
in 1937. He farmed most of his life in the Raritan and Smithshire
communities. Later he worked several years with the county
road department and as a worker for Harold Clayton of
Monmouth in the corn-shelling business.
He is survived by four sons and five daughters: Lee of LaGrange,
MO., Eugene of near Roseville, Melvin and Morris, both of
Monmouth; Mrs. Willis (Victoria) Wilson of Oregon State, Mrs.
Harlan (Doris) Davis of Little York, Mrs. Ray (Madeline) Munson
of Monmouth, Mrs. William (Bonnie) Briggs of Galesburg and
Mrs. Donna McGee of Monmouth.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Turnbull
Funeral Home, where friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
Burial will be in Monmouth Cemetery.

He was also listed as Edward Pratt in the 1900 United States Federal
Census. He was born in Walnut Grove, McDonough County
