I have a Green Bowen born abt 1801 in Halifax., Co. Va.
The family moved to Rutherford Co., NC about 1820-30.Note : The group below living in Forsyth County Georgia in 1850 has Green Bowen b 1805 in Virginia, and has child Joseph born in North Carolina in 1846.

1864 : Green Bowen in 1864 enlisted in the 145th 120 day illinois volunteers out of Vienna, Johnson County Illinois,Elizabeth Bowen on her pension application lists green as serving in both the 145th and the 48th illinois. Green however was listed as age 26. ( That is three years later, he was only one year older.)

Hi i am a descendant of Green Bowen and Anna (Gann) Bowen, .. Green was Joshua Jr's son. his name was Green Bud Bowen, they went from white county illinois to missouri and from there the family landed up in Scott county Arkansas. They were originally on the way to Texas when some of the family got sick and they had to stop.,they had 8 children.Their children were john henry bowen, mary bowen, rebekah bowen, ganum (simon) bowen, elliza bowen, margaret bowen, robert bowen, and richard bowen.
