My mother is Iris May Hays, grand daughter of Lincoln Hays and Helen Hester Gann. I would appreciate it if you could e-mail me any information regarding them. Also if you could please tell me anything you might know on Helen (Tahchee) and James Gann and their marriage.

.... You do not have my Great Grandfather listed as one of the children of Abraham Lincoln & Helen Hester (Gann) Hays. His name is William Timothy Hays. William Timothy had a twin sister who died at birth. I'm not sure of her name though. So, all together there were 7 children born to Abraham Lincoln & Helen Hester (Gann) Hays.

His daughter. Iris Mae Hays is my mother.

Please e-mail me if you need any information on this family.

Sincerely,

Dorlynn Middleton

Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter.

Sincerely,

Dorlynn Middleton

I have not been very lucky with my Hayes ancestors. I do think they were somehow related to George Aiken Hayes. My gr-gr-grandmother was Lydia (possibly Simms) Hayes and my gr-gr-grandfather was born about 1795 in Virginia and some say his name was John, some say William and perhaps it could be John William. He must have died before 1840 because Lydia was in the census from 1840 on as head of the household. One her her daughters (Emily) married James Hayes (son of George Aiken Hayes) in Posey County, Indiana. It seems that Emily and James might have been cousins or somehow related. After leaving Indiana, Lydia and children were in Rutherford County, Tennessee, and then went to northwest Arkansas. Her children were William, John, George Washington, Rebecca, Susan, Amos, Thomas T., Robert and Martha. There could have been more. George Washington Hayes was my gr-grandfather. He was married to Elizabeth Maholah Puckett. Their son, Fletcher Hayes, was my grandfather. Fletcher married Mary Ellen Bruner.

If any of these names sound familiar to you or if you know who George Aiken Hayes' brothers and sisters were, I would really apreciate hearing from you if George Aiken had a brother born about 1795 with a name of John or William.

Thanks in advance.

Bebe (Hayes) Garcia
