This is William M. Bowen's Confirmation from the war Department that he served in the Confederate States Army. This confirmation was requested by the Comptroller in Austin, Texas after William filed for his Confederate pension.The Note says " left at Hall's Mills Alabama". Note : His wife Mahala Duke was born in Alabama in 1850 , they were married in 1868 in Guadalupe County, Texas.
