CARRICOE, Joseph. Private, Militia, 26th Battalion, Capt. William McPherson's Company 1777 [Ref: M-163, which misspelled the name as "Carries"]. Took the Oath of Allegience in 1778 [Ref: L-15, AA-641]. Rendered patriotic service by providing wheat for the use of the military in December 1782. [Ref: N-573, which listed the name as "Carrico"]. Resident of Bryan Town Hundred in 1778 [Ref: Q-I:297].

CARRICOE, Peter (c1743-c1803). Private, Militia, 12th Battalion, Capt. Peter Wood's company, 1777 [Ref: M-161]. Took the Oath of Allegience in 1778 [Ref: AA-641, L-15, which latter source listed the name as "Carrico"]. Resident of Benedict Hundred in 1778 [ref: Q-I297]. Peter Carrico married Catherine ---- and died in Virginia after May 6, 1803 (Ref: J-I:499).

CARRICOE, Thomas Ignatius. He married Elizabeth ----, rendered patriotic service in Maryland and migrated to Kentucky where he died after May 5, 1813 [Ref: J-I:499]

SIMPSON, Lawrence (1762-1843). Private, 1st Maryland Line, drafted from the Charles County militia and in service in June 1781 [Ref: D-376]. Private, 1st Maryland Line, Capt. Edward Prall's Company, until discharged Jan. 8, 1782 [ref. D-433]. He married Sarah CARRICO circa 1795 in Charles County [Ref. W-123]. In December 1816, the Treasurer of Maryland was directed to pay to "Lawrence Simpson, of  Charles County, an old revolutionary soldier, quarterly, the half pay of a private soldier, as a further remuneration for his services in the Revolutionary War." He was placed on the pension rolls of Charles County as of April 1, 1820 (retroactive to Dec. 17, 1819). On Feb. 27, 1843, the Treasurer was directed to pay to "Peter W. Crain, for the widow of Lawrence Simpson, the balance due said Lawrence Simpson, a revolutionary pensioner, at his death." [Ref: Q-II:391, R-33]. He also applied for a federal pension on Dec. 17, 1819, aged 57, and in 1821 had a wife Sarah (aged about 56) and a daughter (aged 17, name not given) living at home.  Aaron (sic) died on Feb. 2, 1843 and his widow applied for a pension (W26443) on July 7, 1852 in Washington, D. C. Their only child was a daughter Mary Burk who was aged 52 in 1853 and stated her parents married in 1798 (the widow had stated 1799). Her mother's maiden name was Carrico and she died on Aug. 13, 1853. Also mentioned in 1852 was a Peter Burk, but no relationship was stated [Ref: V-III:3143].

WATERS, Joseph, of James. Took the Oath of Allegiance in 1778 [Ref: L21]. Joseph Waters, of James married Katherine Carrico on Aug. 6, 1764 and she died on Sept. 3, 1776 (sic). He married secondly to Chloe Dent on Feb. 17, 1767. [Ref: EE-17].

CARRICO, Thomas Ignatious. Took the Oath of Allegiance before the Hon. Edward Burgess on Feb. 28, 1778 [Ref: T-3:64, L-1:39]. He may have been the "Ignatius Caricoe" who rendered aid by providing wheat for use of the military in 1781 [Ref: O-390]. Vincent Carrico, son of Thomas Ignatius Carrico and Elizabeth Kirby, was born in Montgomery County Maryland, circa 1773 and married Mary Elder in Nelson County, Kentucky on Jan. 27, 1807 [Ref: Filson Club Quarterly, Vol. XXV (1951), pp. 217-252]

An Elijah Ellis married Ann Watson by license dated Dec. 27, 1779, an Elijah Ellis married Ann Cooksey by license dated July 9, 1802, and an Elijah Ellis married Martha Carrico by license dated July 27, 1809 [Ref: ZB-74, ZB-75].
