| A List of persons
in Charles County who have taken the following oathe before the
Different magistrates as mentioned before, and Returned by them to
Charles County Court. I _____________ do swear I do not hold myself bound to yield any allegiance or obediance to the King of Great Brittain his heirs or successors and that I will be true and faithfull to the state of Maryland and will to the utmost of my power, support, maintain and defend the Freedom and Independance thereof and the Goverment as now established against all open enemies and secret and traitorous Conspiraces and will use my utmost endiavoures to disclose and make known to the Govenor or some one of the Judges or Justices thereof all Treasons of Traitors Conspiraces, attempts of Combinations against this state or the Goverment thereof which may come to my Knowledge so help me God ~~~ |
