   Whereas Peter Carico of Charles county by his humble
Petition to his Lorships Agent for management of Land Affairs
within this Province has Set forth that Ann Gates heretofore
by her humble Petition to his Lorships Late Agent for
management of Land Affiars did Sett forth that She was seized
in fee simple of and in a Certain Tract or parcell of Land Lying
and being formerly in St. Marys but then in Charles Coty
Containning 100 ac Originally on the 17th of June Anno Domi
1676 Granted unto a Certain John Hunt by the name of ~~~
                       under new Rent when Sold and Conveyed the
Same unto Robert Gates farther of the said Ann which Robert
afterwards by his Last will and Testament devised the afd
Tract unto the said Ann who upon Inspection into the bounds
Conceived there might be Some Errant defects & irregularities
in the Originall Survey thereof by Some of its Lines Running
into Older Surveys or that there might be ??? definciency in the
Quantity which the Same was laid Out for and that there might
be Some Vacant Land there to Contiguous She therefore prayd a
a Speciall Warrnt to Resurvey the same for that Effect and purpose
which was Granted her and accordingly a warrant on the
4th day of June 1720 to her for that purpose did Ifsue but this
Same warrant not being Executed which in time thereon Limited
it was on the Eleven of May 1721 Rend for Six Months Longer and
In pursuance of said Warrant the said Land was Resurveyed
on the 9th day of Novr 1721 and a Certe thereof Returned unto his
Deps Land Office by which it appeared that the whole contains
the Quantity of 215 acres by the Survey or did not distinguish
whether the 115 a over and above the Originall Qty was
Surplus or Vacancy but before the said Ann Gates Laid out
his Lordships Grant for sd Land She Intermarried with ye sd Petr
and is Since dead by which means the said Land is become the
Right of and Vestd in the petr who upon a Late Application Viz
on the 5 of June last to this office for a patent found that this
same could not be applied for Want of the distint???? of
between the Surplus and Vacancy and for which Reason the
Agent could not be at a Certainty in Recieving his Lordships dues
the pet. therefore Humbly prayes that the former Cert might be made
void and that he might have a speciall Warrt to Resurvey the
Same tract a new with Liberty to amend all Errors as well in the
Originall Survey as in the Resurvey afd to Include a Surplusage
and add Contiguous Vanancy and at Return of a Certificate
of Such Resurvey he compounding for the Surplusage and
makeing good Rights to the Vacancy added he might have
his Deps Letters Patent of Confirmation Issue unto him
thereon under the same Conditions and Terms as the same
would have been Granted on the former Resurvey which is
Granted him Provided he Comply with all Requisites and
finally Lues out Such grant within two years from the Date hereof
Lay Out The aforesaid and Carfully Resurvey for and in the name of him
the said Peter Carrico the afd Tract of Land as near as may be according

to its antient intended meets and bounds which its Surplusage
never the lefs correcting all Errors and irregulaties Af Well in
the original Survey as in the Resurvey afd and by your out Lines
adding what Vacant Land you Can find to the same Contiguous whe
