Being weak and sick in body, et.
I give all my estate both real and personal to my beloved wife MARY
CARRICO during her natural life or widowhood. But should she marry
again it is my mill that she take her third according to law but should
she not marry it is my will that at her death that all my property both
real and personal be equally divided among all of my children herein
named that is to say that I have given my son JAMES M. CARRICO one
horse and saddle worth say sixty dollars, he has also bought of me
seventeen and one half acres of land the said that I got from WALTER
O'DANIEL for which he has paid me and is not to come into the
estimate of his portion. I have promised him twenty two acres and one
half adjoining the same one he has built a house which twenty two and
one half acres is to be valued to him when my property shall be divided
among my children.
I have given unto my son BENEDICT CARRICO one horse and saddle worth
sixty dollars.
I have given to my son GEORGE CARRICO one horse and saddle worth sixty
dollars.
I have given to my son WILLIAM CARRICO one horse and saddle worth sixty
dollars
I have also given unto my son WILLIAM my set of cooper's tools,
which he is to have at my death.
I have given unto my daughter MARGARET one mare colt worth forty
dollars, which is to my wish that my wife give her a good saddle.
I have given unto my son THOMAS CARRICO one two year old colt worth
fifty dollars, wich is to work on the farm until the said Thomas has
become of age. It is also my wish that my wife give him a good saddle.
The balance of my children, towit: ZAPHANIAH, SAMUEL, MARY, ANN and
ELIZABETH have not as yet received any portion of my estate but it is
my wish that my wife as they come of age or marry give them a horse,
saddle, and bridle worth fifty dollars, etc.
And as my wife is at this time pregnant my wish that should it live
that it is to inherit equally with the other children.
And lastly I do here by appoint my wife executrix together with my sons
JAMES and RICHARD (hmmm Richard wasn't named above?) and
executors of this my last will, etc.

This William's wife was Mary Maddox. He was listed 1800 & 1810 in
Charles Co., MD, cannot locate 1820, but is listed in the 1830 census
in Washington Co., KY taken as of Jun 1.
By 1840 the family can be found in Marion Co., not that they may have
moved, but
Marion Co. was formed from part of Washington in 1834.
