WILL OF GEORGE KEITH
I George Keith sen'r of the County of Bourbon & State of Kentucky
being old week & very infirm & calling to mind that according
to the course of nature I cannot continue long in this world &
wishing so to dispose of my worldly good that after my decease their
may be no disputes about the same “& now being (altho week &
low) of sound mind & memory“ do constitute and ordain this my last
Will and Testament & do dispose of my worldly goods in the manner
& form

following (To wit)
-Fst. I give & bequeath unto my son Richard all that tract or
parsal of land whereon I now live being one hundred & eight acres.
-Sd. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elisabeth Green a negro
girl named Ann together with her increes if any she has & the said
Ann & c [does this mean children?] is to be considered as
equal to eighty pounds.
-Thd. I give and bequeath to my son Garrett one negro girl named
Jeane together with her increase if any she has & the said Jeane is
to be considered as equal to eighty pounds.
-Forth. I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Robinson one
negro girl named Sarah together with her increase if any she has &
the said Sarah & c is to be considered to be as equal to
eighty pounds.
-Fifth. I give & bequeath unto my daughter Joannah Kerico one
negro boy named Stephen which said negro Stephen is to be considered as
equal to eighty pounds.
-Sixth. I give & bequeath unto my son Edward one negro boy
named Lev which said negro Lev is to be considered as equal to eighty
pounds.
-Seventh. I give & bequeath to my son George one negro boy
named Bob which said negro Bob is to be considered as equal to eighty
pounds.
-Eighth. I give & bequeath to my daughter Monica Daugherty a
negro girl named Jude together with her increase if any she has &
the said Jude & c is to be considered as equal to eighty pounds.
-Ninth. I give & bequeath to the heirs and legal
representatives of my son James dec'd eighty pounds to be paid in the
following manner (to wit) twenty pounds is to be paid by my hear
in after named ex'ors and to be paid from the proceeds of the sails of
my estate and sixty pounds by my son Richard to whom I have left my
plantation which I consider to be more than his equal part of my estate.
-Tenth. I give unto my two negro women (to wit) Jenney &
Charity their liberty to be under the control of none but the laws of
the land & supported in their decline of life by my ex'rs &
-Lastly. I do appoint my sons Garrett & Edward my executors
to carry this my Will into complete effect & so to dispose of all
of my worldly good not herin before mentioned that

-Joannah Kerrico
-Edward Keith

-Monica Daugherty &
-one equal part to be divided between the heirs of James dec”d
in witness whereof I have heareunto set my hand and seal this 16th day
of March 1806

This last will and Testament of George Keith deceased was produced in
open court and proved according to law by the oaths of
Roger Williams,
John Hand, and
James Brown
Witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded And on the motion of
Garrett Keith and Edward Keith executors named in said will who made
oath thereto and together with
James Brown Jr [?] and
Joseph Williams
their securities entered into and acknowledged their bond in the penalty

Whereupon it is the opinion of the Court that the new way be
established as reported & that the old way be discontinued.

An appraisement of the estate of George Keith deceased was returned
into Court and ordered to be recorded.

An account of the sales of the estate of George Keith deceased was
returned into Court and ordered to be recorded.
…
Ordered that Charles Smith Jr. Roger Williams, David Clarkson, and John
Cleveland or any three of them be appointed Commissioners to divide the
estate of George Keith deceased among his heirs and representatives,
agreeably to his last will and testament and make report to Court.

Bourbon County Set [or Sct.] Agreeably to an order from the worshipful
the County Court for the County aforesaid to us directed we have met at
the late dwelling house of George Keith deceased this 24th day of April
1806 and after being duly sworn as directed by the said order proceeded
to Value and appraise the personal estate and slaves of the said George
deceased as follows to wit. . . .
Inventory continues followed by the sale of personal goods.
