I started the Carrico section to share with other Carico/Carrico researchers items of interest that I have found in my own research. More recently I have begun to include documents, pictures etc. that others have requested to be included in these pages to also share with others. It is my hope, that in time, through these & other documents, we will find answers to the many questions about Peter Carricoe the immigrant & his many descendants. If you have documents, won't you please share them as well?

It is my personal feeling that there remain a number of error's in the most common believed descendacy of Peter Carrico, the immigrant. Much work remains to prove or disprove the research of Homer Edwin Carrico & that of his predecessor, Maud Carrico Russell. Current research indicates that they both missed, or were unaware of some early branches of the Carrico family tree, & thus made erroneous conclusions as to who fit where.

In the case of my own ancestor, Alexander (AKA John Alexander) Carrico, Maud, on her 1932 Wall Chart, indicated 1st that Alexander was the son of James (of Peter) who did have a son Aexander, but who was still a minor in 1809. Secondly, she confused two different men as being the same man with 2 wives, Alexander Carrico Rev. Vet.  of MA who married Elizabeth Foster & Alexander who married Mary Sedgwick 1800 Montgomery Co., MD. Homer Edwin, on the other hand, claimed Alexander was only married to Mary Sedgewick, but was b. 1750, a Minute Man in the Revolution & awarded land in Montgomery Co., MD, and further indicates he was the son of Peter III. Most likely because Peter is listed in the 1790 census in Montgomery Co., MD but by the late 1790's was residing in what is now known as Preston, WV.  I have found no evidence as yet to support Homer's conclusion that Alexander was son of Peter & all evidence indicates that Alexander was born during the Revolution & as such, would not have fought in it.

So, Fellow Carrico Researcher's and other intersted parties, I present to you the documents & will let them speak for themselves. I have included links to various places on the internet set up to discuss with others about Carrico research & would welcome discussion on the Carrico list what some of these documents may mean & how they agree or disagree with the previous research cited above.
