As of April 10, 2005, all copyright notices contained on our web site have been lifted. In one letter of our correspondence, John W. Bobbitt wrote that there was a reason he never copyrighted his book, "The Bobbitt Family In America". He never stated the reason, but it's clearly apparent that if the book had been copyrighted, the growth and extension of Bobbitt Family information could have been heavily curtailed. Therefore, with the same thought in mind, we have lifted all copyrights on this web site. If you find a copyright notice, you may disregard it with one exception. If you are directed to a web page that is NOT on our servers you must abide by their copyright notices. Thank you.

This book is a culmination of many years of excellent work by John W. Bobbitt and others who helped... these people are mentioned in the book on page ii. The original printing of the book has been sold out for several years. Judith Shubert made copies that were sold out. L. Eldon Sowers made copies that were also sold out. John placed books in several libraries across the United States.

"Interest in this work passes from one family member to another. Just as in the past, several members of the family had some fragments, some interesting information, some documentary proof, someone in our future will sort out, rewrite, and become the centralized depository for our Bobbitt family history." -- John W. Bobbitt
It is fitting and proper that people be recognized for their efforts in this project.
John W. Bobbitt, author of the original printed book. I doubt our family will ever see another book of this magnitude.
Joseph Rosser Bobbitt III, producer of the .PDF pages in the online and CD versions of this book and all the .PDF pages in "Our Bobbitt Family" by Allen Wade Mount, Sr.
Judith Shubert, who added comments to some of the original pages written by John W. Bobbitt.
Brian Keith Bobbitt, my son, who has been an inspiration with his help in computer technology.
Mary Katheryn Bobbitt, my wife, who consistently asks me to get off the computer because she needs to make a call. She finally bought a cell phone.
Lori Ann Young, my daughter, and Cassie Grace Young, my grand daughter, who supplied the hugs.
Thank you all. -- Keith Bobbitt
