Mary Saffell Will

In the name of the God Amen. I Mary Saffell of Montgomery County in the Providence of Maryland, Planter and beong of a sick disposial of povety but of perfect mind and memory thanks be ginento God and calling to mind the mortallity of my body and know it is appointed for all flesh once to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament in princepally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in a decent Christian Burial and as touching such worldly estate as in halt please you to bless me with in this life. I dispose in the following manner-----1st I bequeath to my son Charles Saffell all of my land the bed in which he lies on the gray mare the young bay mare one dish and five platters and old dutch oven and like is the cart wheels--2nd I bequeath to my daughter Sarah the bed which I now lie on---3rd I bequeath to my son Joshua Saffell one iron pot----4th I bequeth to my grandson Hezekiah Saffell my ------- --5th I bequeath to my son Charles Saffell one red bow and for him pay the following provisions----6th I bequeath to my son John Saffell my deceased five shillings---7th I bequeath my son William after my deseaced five shillings----8th I bequeath my son Samuel Saffell after my deseaesed five shillings----9th i bequeath to my son James after my deceased five shillings ---10th I bequeath to my daughter Ann after my deceased five shillings and I bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth after my deceased five shillings.
And I do hereby conistitute Charles my son to be the whole and sole ---- of this my last will and testament. I witness where I have ---set my hand and seal this 29th day of June in the year seventenn hundred and eighty five.

Montgomery County April 10th 1787. Then came Benjamin Kelly and Clerine Green two of the subscribeing witnesses to the within the last will and testament of Mary Saffell late of the said County deceased and severall do oath on the Holy Evangelists of Allmighty God that they did see the ---- herein named sign and seal this last will and that they heard her publish pronounce and declare the same to be her last will and testament and that at the time of her so doing she was the best of ----apprehension of sound and disposing mind, memory and under ----and that they and John Kelly the other subscribing witness ---will subscribe thier names thereto as witnesses in the presence ---at the request of the testator on in the presence of each other
