This particular Whaley family comes from William Whaley, Sr., who was at the Wrightsboro settlement during the Revolutionary War. He married Hannah Bruton (possibly "Brewton"), who came from Maryland in the late 1700's to Georgia. They had, at least, one son - William Whaley, Jr.
William Whaley, Jr. was born on January 1, 1783 in Georgia and died in September of 1844 in Fayette County, Georgia. He married Elizabeth Lackey, who came with her family to Fayette County from Morgan County, Georgia. William and Elizabeth had at least 12 children, and they are thought to be: John, b.abt 1801; Hannah, b.1805; unknown daughter, b.abt.1807; unknown son, b.abt 1809; Nancy, b.1811; Mary, b.abt.1813; Josiah, b.abt1814; Elizabeth Jane, b.1815; Ann, b.abt.1818; unknown daughter, b.abt.1822; Samuel D., b.abt 1825; and William P., b.abt.1828.
Our next ancestor from William's family is Hannah Whaley. She was born on March 19, 1805 in Fayette County, Georgia and died on May 20, 1888 at Riverdale in Clayton County, Georgia. On February 26, 1808 in Morgan County, Georgia she married William Allen from Fayette County, Georgia.
William and Hannah's family can be viewed on the Allen page.
