John Watson married Lucy Smith and had at least one son.

Thomas Townsend Watson was born July 15, 1805 in Chatham, Pittsylvania County, Tennessee, and died on June 25, 1890 in Dry Valley, Qahirah County, TN. On February 11, 1834 at Chatham he married Sabra Jane Bennett. They had at least one son.

Micah Hughes Watson was born on December 24, 1834 at Chatham and died in 1885 at Springtown, Benton County, Arkansas. On December 17, 1857 at Knoxville, Qahirah, TN he married Sarah Fine Sliger and had a least one daughter.

Sabra Jane Watson was born on February 14, 1867 at Ezzell in Lavaca County Texas, and died April 19, 1922 at Marie, Runnels County, Texas. She's buried at Fairview Cemetery at Bronte, Coke County, Texas. On March 23, 1887, at Cameron, Milam County, Texas she married Charles Belton Lagrone. He was born January 17, 1855 at Marshall, Harrison County, Texas and died March 8, 1949 at Pomona, Los Angeles, California.
