My earliest Allen ancestor is William Allen. He was born about 1800 in Fayette County, Georgia and married on February 6, 1828 in Morgan County, Georgia to Hannah Whaley. William died January 28, 1848 in Fayette County. Hannah was born March 19, 1805 also in Fayette County and died May 20, 1888 at Riverdale in Clayton County, Georgia. They had several children, one of whom was Martha Allen.

Martha Allen was born 1844 in Alabama and died about 1880 in Cass County, Texas. She married on February 14, 1867 in Clayton County, Georgia to John Andrew Jackson Kirkland.. aka "Jack". They had three sons that I know of including John Henry Kirkland.
