The Barrett Cemetery in Kunkle, OH

The following photos are of the Barrett Cemetery in Kunkle, OH. I am only posting those that are definitely Barrett related and not all of them...just the ones I felt worth sharing. If you want to see more, just email me and I will send you what I have.

The first photo is of the entrance to the Barrett Cemetery in Kunkle, OH. In the first row you see Susannah's original headstone. The second photo is of Benjamin's headstone. He is the 4th born son of Cyrus and Susannah. He was born in 1825 and died in 1863. I found Benjamin in the 1860 census with 3 children, a boy and two girls. The headstones say son/daughter of B & R Barrett. Since he is the only "B" Barrett that I can find in the censuses it is safe to assume that. Next to that one is the headstone of Elijah Barrett, Cyrus' 7th son. The next headstone is of Cyrus, the son of Daniel. It is Cyrus 1's grandson. He only lived to be 5 yrs old. In the next row, you see an unknown son of D & H. Following that is Daniel, son of Cyrus 1, and then one of his wife Hannah. On the next row you will see three headstones for Daniel and Hannah's children, all died as infants or young children. I enhanced one of them so you can see it better. They were all pretty worn out, what you'd expect after 150 years. In the next row I have a photo of William H's GAR metal that was only given to those men who were honorably discarged from the Union Army, Navy, Marine Corps, or the Revenue Cutter Service between 1861 and 1865. Records show that William served in the 38th Reginet of the Ohio Volunteer Army from Sep 1861 to July 1865. William H and Martha's headstone, one view of the name of them and their daughter Mary E. who died at 4 yrs of age, follow that. The last three are scenes of the cemetery.
