Several years ago, a group of concerned people placed these markers
where
they believed Daniel and Suzanne Wiggins' graves were located in the
cemetery
of present-day Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. The location was
picked because
the graves of their offspring were close by. They wanted to make
sure that he
was memorialized, even though they didn't know exactly where he and
his wife
Suzanne were buried. Daniel once owned and lived on the same
land in which
he was buried, and Suzanne was probably the first to be buried there.
The church
was once known as Wiggins Church in years past. Today it's an
active growing
church located in Grimes, Dale County, Alabama near Dothan, yet still
in the
same location. Until Abbeville became Henry County, Alabama's
seat, much of
Grimes was known as Richmond, Henry's original county seat. Daniel
first lived
in South Carolina, and accompanied Mrs. Frances Alexander into SC from
NC.
