Roy Dudley Hatchell. The photo was reportedly taken
during World War I. A son of Mattie Viola Alexander
and George Chapel Hatchell, he was the 2nd husband
of Sadie E. Alexander, a daughter of Luther, Sr. and
his first wife, Nettie Hatchell Alexander.

This is the cemetery in France where Barney Kirby "B.K." Alexander's
remains
have been buried since 1945. B.K. was a son of Joseph Kirkland
Alexander, Sr.
and was killed during the infamous World War II "Battle of the Bulge"
place in
Belgium. Lorraine American Cemetery, Plot E Row 34 Grave 35,
St. Avold,
France. Barney was only 19 years of age when he perished.

Cypress Cemetery in (now) Lee County, South Carolina, once adjoined
Cypress Methodist Church
with a recorded history since 1927. This is the Cypress' 2nd
cemetery. The bodies were moved
when the church relocated a fairly short distance down the road.
The church built on this property
was distroyed by fire many years ago, and the parishioners were moved
to Newman Swamp
Methodist Church (now U.M.C.) near the town of Lamar in Darlington
County, South Carolina.
This was the Confederate boot camp for John Wesley Alexander and most
of the men of his
Company A, 14th Regiment out of Cartersville, (now) in Florence County,
South Carolina. The
sign is located on Parklane Road, a busy retail area of Columbia, Richland
County, South Carolina.
